New flight route to strengthen Qatar-Turkey ties, says Qatar Airways’ official
World famous airline company Qatar Airways launched its flight operations from Doha to Turkey’s Mediterranean province of Adana as its first aircraft landed at Adana Sakirpasa Airport.
During the ceremony, Governor of Adana Mahmut Demirtas told journalists that passengers from Adana will be able to fly directly to Qatar without going to Ankara or Istanbul.
Demirtas said Adana is one of the most important cities in Mediterranean region in Turkey and the direct flights to Qatar from Adana will further enhance the relationship between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Ehab Amin said that they are happy to start direct flights to Adana.
“We have been doing flights between Turkey and Doha for 13 years. There will be Doha-Adana flights three days a week,” Amin said, adding that Turkish passengers can obtain Qatari visas at Doha airport and the visa is valid for 180 days.
Amin said the new route will strengthen ties and friendship between Qatar and Turkey even more. He added that Qatar Airways fly to more than 150 destinations and Eastern Europe is in the company’s growth plan.
